Prometheus: The Long Road

The Long Road features a cappella repertoire by Canadian composers, written in the last 40 years.  The concert will feature “One Black Spike” by Jocelyn Morlock, a work that explores the theme of immigrant labour used to develop the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway from 1914-1945. Other works include compositions by Canadian composers David Archer, Liova Bueno, Jeff Enns, Nicholas Fairbank, Rodney Sharman, Tobin Stokes and many more!

World Premiere: I'll Drown My Book

An a cappella experience featuring the music of Victoria’s Requiem

Chronos Vocal Ensemble, led by Jordan Van Biert, concludes its 2018-19 Season with INTO LIGHT, offering a reflective a cappella experience that presents Renaissance and contemporary unaccompanied music together.

The 1603 Requiem by the famed Spanish composer Tomás Luis de Victoria will be featured alongside music of living composers from Canada, the United States, Britain and Norway. The Requiem movements, performed primarily by a small ensemble drawn from the choir, will be presented interspersed with contrasting music commenting on the Requiem theme.

The concert will also feature the world premiere a new commission: I’ll Drown My Book by Vancouver composer Kristopher Fulton, who will be in attendance.

Llega La Hora: Thames Chamber Choir - O Earth, return!

This March the Thames Chamber Choir, Led by Christian Spielmann and Andrew Campling will perform my work Llega La Hora when they return to Bristol to present a concert of music with which to celebrate the arrival of spring.

Join us in the beautiful surroundings of St Paul's church for a celebration of choral music old and new, including three Byrd masterpieces, Vaughan-Williams' powerful and evocative 3 Shakespeare Songs, and Jonathan Dove's spectacularly beautiful song cycle for double choir and piano, The Passing of the Year.

Cosmogony: Vancouver Cantata Singers

The Vancouver Cantata Singers will perform my arrangement of Björk’s Cosmogony and will bring you a concert of 19th century and contemporary works, exploring the poetry and music of the planets and heavenly spheres. The concert features works by Erik Ešenvalds, Ola Gjeilo, Robert Schumann, and Canadian composers, Stephen Chatman, Craig Galbraith, and Larry Nickel.

Pro Coro Canada, lead by Michael Zaugg, will perform my work O Seeker Of Dreams as part of their first concert of the season.

Great poetry inspires great music! Join us for an exploration of works by Benjamin Britten, Lars Johan Werle and Ralph Vaughan Williams as they interpret texts by William Shakespeare, e.e. cummings, Gerald Manley Hopkins and Arthur Stringer. You will also hear how a new generation of Canadian composers approach these significant poets.

At 150 years, Canada is still a relatively young nation, making our Youth & Music concert a perfect venue for the Choir to start its 2017 celebrations. This event highlights the delightful finalists and winners of our 13th biennial Young Composers' Competition, while conductors Jon Washburn and Carrie Tennant lead the Vancouver Chamber Choir and the Vancouver Youth Choir in a programme that marks our nation's birth through the creativity of our youngest composers from 8 to 30.

The Colorado Chorale performs my work Icarus in their concert Greek Treasures in collaboration with the Denver Pro Chorale.

 The Many of us picture the same scenes when imagining Greece – the Acropolis, toga-wearing gods and goddesses, the black sands of Santorini, and sunshine glistening off of the crystal blue water. But what about the music? The Colorado Chorale presents a concert featuring Greek music and composers. Join us as we collaborate with the Denver Pro Chorale, leaving you with the enticing and hauntingly stoic sounds of ancient and modern Greece.
